Mallery gives a lot of information about squirrel lifestyle, history, trivia and ideas for facilitating squirrel/bird yard-sharing, all in a way that will make make you laugh as much as the squirrels do. There are even recipes for treats. Information AND entertainment!

I even read a brief excerpt of it - it was part of a poem, the poem contained a gross error, but I ignored it...thinking to myself, "It's only a poem, the rest of the book will be correct and informative and funny, just like the reviews said." But I was wrong. The author kept referring to the squirrels...tree squirrels, mind you...stuffing their cheeks with food until their eyes bulged, or words to that effect. Page after page, chapter after chapter, he wrote about the little creatures stuffing their cheeks with food. Except tree squirrels and fox squirrels DON'T HAVE CHEEK POUCHES! Ground squirrels do, but not the little beasties who were so cutely depicted in the book's drawings. And it really, REALLY IRRITATED me: the fact that I knew more about the grey tree squirrels in my backyard than the guy who'd written this book. So I tossed it into our recycling bin. I did NOT want anyone else to be misinformed, so I saw no point in donating the book or trying to sell it in a garage sale.
