Review "I loved the poignant back story, and how themes of faith, family and reconciliation were woven into the story. Highly recommend!" - Labor Not In Vain blog "This is also a beautiful story of second chances and waiting on God's time and plan." - Kristie-Moments Blog "This story warmed my heart and made me smile as I hope it will do for you." - Carol on Goodreads "McClone does an excellent job of combining a sweet reunion romance with excellent lessons in forgiveness and faith." - Julie on Goodreads

From the Author Picture Perfect Love is my first Christian romance. The difference between this novella and the "sweet" romances I also write is the faith journey of the characters. I loved writing this story! My oldest daughter helped me pick the name of the hero. The setting is my home state of Washington. I also used something my church's youth group does every year--attend a ropes course! I'm so excited to be a part of A Year Of Wedding novella collection! Each story in the series is standalone, but have one thing in common--they feature the people who make wedding days happen! My story is about a wedding photographer and set in the month of June.I hope you enjoy it!

That is how I felt at the end of this novella. You'll see why in a minute. Jenna is a photographer who has spent the last two years. putting her life back together after being left at the alter. Her former fiance accused her of something she didn't do and called it off. Now he is on her door step asking her for a big favor and finally apologizing for accusing her.I struggled with this story because I genuinely liked Jenna. I am also a sucker for second chance love. I was behind Jenna and Ash finding their way back to each other and falling in love again. I felt like both had made big changes in their lives and were coming back to the table with a new perspective. However, relationships are about trust and faith and when Ash betrays Jenna's trust again, I personally had a hard time getting behind them. The way Ash was so quick to not believe her again made me question his growth. I understand forgiveness and did applaud Jenna for finding it in her heart to forgive again, but I would have been reluctant to tell her to trust again. So for the most part, I did like this story. It is a sweet second chance love story. I just couldn't get behind them for a third time.

In a novella, the author has such a shortened amount of time to tell the story and to make us fall in love with the main characters. But Melissa has surely accomplished this in this simply wonderful little book. I have read several of Melissa’s books. She is my go to author for a HEA, and for the warm and fuzzy feelings all her books bring when I read them. But this is her first Inspirational Romance, and I have fallen in love with it.Jenna Harrison is a wedding photographer for her own company, Picture Perfect Photography in Sweetwater, Washington. But her own love life hasn’t been as successful as the many couples she photographs. Two years ago, Jenna was left at the alter by who she thought was the love of her life, her own HEA, Ashton Vance. Ashton was running for public office and when a picture was posted to Facebook that made him a laughing stock and cost him his candidacy, he blamed Jenna and canceled the wedding and walked out of her life.Ashton now has his dream job working for a law firm that is his perfect fit. Losing the candidacy was the best thing that ever happened to him. And now, two years later, Ashton’s sister, Amber, has admitted that it was her that posted the picture of him, not Jenna after all.“If he’d only listened to her, but he’d thought he knew best and put his belief behind his family instead of his fiancé.”Now his sister wants Jenna to photograph her own wedding but will Jenna ever accept his apology? Two years is a long time. As soon as he sees Jenna, he realizes what has been missing from his life that has kept him from moving forward. It is Jenna. He is so impressed with the woman she has become. She has found a new church and her faith has blossomed along with her self confidence and her business. But will she ever give him a second chance?“He should have believed Jenna. He should have stood by her. He should have done things – everything – differently.”Although Jenna is a completely different woman now, she still has her wedding dress she was supposed to wear hanging in the back of her closet. So has she really moved on? As she and Ashton spend time together, something blooms again within her heart. With the help of Ashton’s meddling sister, a shared berry cobbler, and being stuck in a gazebo during a bad thunderstorm, second chances become a reality. It must be the magic of Melissa’s words that made me fall so completely in love with Jenna and Ashton. I have to be truthful in that I had my reservations about Ashton. He hurt her so badly. But as Jenna accepts him back into her life and forgives him it was obvious that he was the only man for her. This story warmed my heart and made me smile as I hope it will do for you. “There’s always a plan. Not yours or mine, but His.”

I've very much enjoyed many of the Year of Weddings novellas, and I wanted to like Picture Perfect Love. I liked Jenna a lot, and I wanted her to find her happily ever after. The problem? I didn't like her ex-fiance, Ashton, at all. At two points in the novella, other men were introduced, and I thought that maybe one of them would be Jenna's true love. But no, it's Ash that she belongs with. Sometimes, I don't particularly "buy" a couple in a romance novel, but rarely do I actively root against them—and that's what happened in this case. While I didn't enjoy the romance, I did like other aspects of the novella. I loved seeing the difference that good friends, a great church, and strong faith made in Jenna's life. As I said before, I liked her a lot, and she was interesting enough that I would have enjoyed reading about her life sans romance. The novella is written well, but I just couldn't get behind the romance. However, while this novella wasn't my cup of tea, I'm sure many romance lovers will really enjoy it. 2-1/2 stars.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Litfuse Publicity Group. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
