About the Author Anthony Thaxton is the publisher of this volume of work and is included as an author as well (for his 1990 short story, "Pawpaw and I Went Fishin'"). Thaxton is an award-winning television producer, fine artist (he painted the cover of this book), writer, and musician. He lives in Raymond, MS, with his wife and two children.

The magazine, "Southern Voices," is published each year containing creative writing from the student body - juniors and seniors in high school. This is a collection of the first prize winners since the school's conception in the early 90s.As a former student of MSMS, I am so happy to have this collection of short stories. The writings from these students are insanely good for writers of their age. The stories vary in plot but not in quality.I'm so glad this has been published. I love it. I highly recommend to everyone!

By John Tippitt I was thoroughly delighted to find a copy of this mailed to an old address, but somehow still delivered to me by the post office. The stories are just as much fun now as they were years ago, and there are many more recent ones I've just now had the pleasure to read. Many thanks to all that made this possible.
