Cassie loves Jed, needs him, doesn't know much about him, has to let him go, wants to stand by him, then ends up pregnant. The heart wants what the heart wants and for Cassie, it's a life withe Jed, even if it means witness protection. After going through all the stress and making her final decision to stand by Jed, "they" catch her! NOOOOOO! Now we need to know who "they" are and if Jed and Cassie ever get their HEA. Loved the pace of the storyline and how it reflects both sides dealing with their stress during this mess.

While Cassie is trying to find out why Jed is on the run, she has gone to the police, and in her own mind, trying to think of ways to help him.Knowing that she might be in danger, she looks to her best friend for support, but at the same time, Hope is telling her to stay away from him, it's not worth it.While trying to clear her mind, Cassie takes a trip to her cabin, and realizes Jed has been hiding out there. She's angry, mad, and at the same time wants to protect him. She knows she has feelings for him, but she doesn't love this man at all.While the police are in search for Jed, Cassie tries to keep working, and dodging police questions as much as she possibly can. While stressing over Jed, she becomes ill, and thinks it's all because of the stress, and confusion Jed as put her through. She seeks help again, for her stress and anxiety, but soon figures out that all the love making with Jed as gotten her pregnant. Which was something she wanted with her first love. Her dead husband Brian.After telling her best friend Hope, they decide it's best to think of this baby an not tell Jed. He won't be around, because he will either be dead or in witness protection. She decides to let him know it's over.While I was reading book 2 I have to say, Jed got on my nerves big time. He's so secretive, but yet, He wants everything with Cassie. I think Hope is the only one with a clear head in all this, and no one seems to listen to her. hahaha. Cassie is too wishy washy, and it gets old after a while. I think the book is a good read, and recommend it.

It action is still there, but mystery of the handsome Jed gives us some insight into what or should I say who is after him!! I love the way he always takes time to tell Cass how beautiful she is, and how sorry he is for getting her involved!! It's awful that in life we can make one decision about something we felt it was worth trying, just to have that decision come back to haunt us. Thou, Jed is keeping himself away from the "bad guys", the events and constant running taking a toll on Cass physical and mentally, so she ends things between the two of them.. But, there are so much unfinished business for them still..Cass, I can understand her grief, but these wishy-washy feelings drive me crazy.. She loves Jed and wants to stand be him, then she thinks her life is better off if they were not together.. That is my only complaint from this series so far..This series is so intense, you just want to keep reading and find out more!!Adlynn Flaharty ended this book with a cliff-hanger that made want to get to that next book fast as possible!!I totally Recommend this to all romance book lovers, that like some action, mystery, some awesome characters, and some great sparks between the love interests!! Recommended to all 18 and over!!
