Scott Cupp writes about his life in Science Fiction (he actually was a part-owner of a SF bookstore!). And the pieces by the iconic Michael Moorcock, Neal Barrett, Jr., and Joe R. Lansdale are worth the price of admission alone. But wait, there's more! Wonderful works by Rhonda Eudaly, Aurella Hadley Mohl, Don Webb, and Jessica Reisman. And a great cover by Rocky Kelley (no relation). If you enjoy reading science fiction, you'll love this outstanding book!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Texas Leads the Way By Bill Crider This is an excellent collection of SF stories by Texas authors, assembled by editor Rick Klaw. So many good ones that it's hard to pick a favorite, so I'll just mention a few of the goodies. There's Neal Barrett's goofy and funny "reverse vampire" tale, Joe Lansdale's typically weird and amusing take on Man's Best Friend, Rhonda Eudaly's story of alien telemarketing, Stina Licht's scary take on . . . you'll have to find out for yourself, and Mark Finn's action-packed story of a contemporary (but alternate) Texas where dinosaurs roam. And I have to mention Scott Cupp's nonfiction (mostly) piece on the history of Texas fandom. Not to be missed, nor is anything else in this impressive anthology. Check it out.
