Gray Due to my overwhelming love of zombie and dystopian style novels, I downloaded this one over the weekend at the coast. I’m thrilled to say that this story is an excellent example of the type that I enjoy. The protagonist, Vallance, is a very unique character, and the transitions between what is occurring in his life really add to the ratcheting up of tension as the story barrels toward an excellent ending. I always enjoy a tale that throws a twist or two in, and this one definitely does that; I won’t give away the plot details, but the end really made me smile with satisfaction. Leading up to that end though, was a stellar mix of action and exposition. The descriptive style that this author commands paints vibrant images in your head, leaving the battle scenes as palpable, in-your-face experiences. Also, the eerie locale and a particular gaseous chemical was a new plot device for me to read about and created a perfect setting for the scenario set forth.In summation, if you’re looking for good zombie thrill that exceeds the standard hulking dead people against a lone survivor staple, you’ll definitely love this one. Now that I’ve read it, I thoroughly look forward to the next one in the series.

Martin The usual zombie story gets a twist with a new hero in the shape of Vallance, a self-appointed zombie hunter – zombies who can think and strategize, making them the ultimate killers with a thirst for anything with a heart-beat. The pace is tight and relentless, leaving you breathless throughout.
