Dallas has lost her freedom in exchange for the deed to their home that her Daddy bet in a high-stakes card game. She has to protect her little sisters so she has no choice! But being given to Ambrose Autrie is going to be anything but nice. He's a rich pig of a man. He views everything as his property to do with what he wishes plain and simple. She finds out just what her new prison will be like when his son, Colter, enters the room to find Dallas tied up. His Dad has always thought he was soft so he makes him watch as he violates Dallas. If he refuses, he'll kill her. Colter doesn't like what his father has become and surely doesn't want Dallas killed. He watches to save her, but he unwittingly has sealed his fate because his Dad knows how to pull his strings.This was an interesting beginning to a new serial. There are a few scenes that could be triggers for some so please be aware. Ambrose is just an awful man. Money and power at its worst. For such a short book, there was a lot going on and I definitely had some strong feelings going on!! The author did a great job with that. I look forward to reading the next chapter!!I was gifted this book by the author for the express purpose of an honest review. Contempary Romance_ Adult themed By Jeanette Blose Sold by her father to the owner of Heart Break Ranch to pay off his debt's and to save her younger sister from the deviant owner,Dallas became the Property of the Autrie's. It sickened her to see Colter Autrie see her under his fathers hands. Would he take part also in her humiliation? She hoped he would save her,because he did try to stand up to his father. But his father was evil and gave him a ultimatum,stay or she would probably die. There was no leaving the ranch ...for either of them. When Colter's father branded her she knew it was hopeless for her. But if it kept her sister safe she would survive it.Even though it killed her inside. She just had to hope Colter was not as evil as his father. I really enjoyed this book a can't wait to read the rest of the series. It kept me wondering what would happen next and also very sad for Dallas.It is well written and told in a way that made me wonder if that kind of thing could be real somewhere.

Humiliated and abused she hoped that somebody saved her. Ambrose was a very evil and depraved man and he had the power over all of them. Colter was the son of the monster but nothing like Ambrose. He was worried for Dallas fate but in order to help her he can’t do a thing against his father. He had to obey his father. This was a very intense first part. The horror of Dallas degradation made me sad and I felt pain for her. Emotions of hopeless were present. I had no idea of what’s next and hope Colter make a movement soon and we have some action by him. This beginning was strong, full of emotions and fast paced. For those of us who like different, interesting plots with strong action and not everyday situations this story looks compelling. The author knew how to catch the reader attention quickly.Received the ARC for an honest review
