1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Female lead wasn't likeable but the story was ok By Snowbunny1977 I really wanted to like this and some parts I did like. At the beginning we meet Ginger who is jobless and her roommate and best friend gets her an interview at her lawyers firm as an PA. She seems like a nice person and sweet. She impresses Dane and he hires her as a personal assistant but in his personal life and not the actual business. He likes her a lot. Hes really sweet and powerful and sexy and is head over heels for her which she is oblivious about. She likes him a lot too but doesnt think he likes her that way. He's just so generous and gives her stuff for doing a good job but its also the bear in him thats wanting to take care of her. Then she makes a big mistake. He told her under no circumstances to bother him on the weekends when hes at his cabin. Well...obviously she didnt understand the urgency of that rule. She goes to find him on Storm Isle anyways and its a disaster. She meets Hunter who is a fisherman who knows where the island is. Humans aren't allowed there but Hunter who is a bear also takes her because she needs to get to Dane. I dont think Hunter thought it through either but crap hit the fan. Its a law and it could mean her death. At this point Dane hasn't told her his feelings and she quickly finds out he's a bear and she's surrounded by bears. She totally freaks which is understandable. She's angry and Dane and Hunter for not telling her what it meant from the get go. So, she's waiting on this council to rule whether she lives or dies. She's been spending a little time with Hunter during the day while Dane is out gathering support. Its clear both of these men like her a lot. She likes them too but shes totally confused about everything til Gunner a very evil bear wants her for himself. So a lot of crap happens basically...Dane ends up turning her to save her life but without her permission. So, naturally she hates him...or really angry with him. She's angry with Hunter too a little but she trusts him to help her deal and be a bear pretty much. They are gone for 2 weeks and screw like bunnies. She's not marked by anyone. Comes back to the island to be with her people although reluctantly she wants to see Dane but doesnt. Gunnar has set fires and ruined everyones homes pretty much. Comes down to a battle with Ginger as bait. Yadda yadda...you will need to read it. Loving 2 men its hard for her to choose so they dont make her. They choose to be a triad. The story itself I have no problem with.Its Ginger's character I take issue with. I LIKED her at first. She was great. Then once she got to the island she changed. I get her fear and anger at first but its through the WHOLE series she whines...GODS THE WHINING! She uses poor Hunter towards the beginning and that just ticked me off cause he didnt deserve that. I just didnt see her as doing a thing like that but she did. He loved her and cared about her and she used him to try and leave on her own. I realize things worked out at the end, but she used both these men for her own selfish reasons. Neither one deserved what she did to them. She needed to give Dane the benefit of the doubt when he changed her. He did that for a reason not just because. Hunter didnt do anything to be treated the way she treated him. Made her an unlikable character. She was so childish sometimes. Poor me attitude sucked. So by the end I wasnt a fan of hers. Loved Dane and Hunter though. When we read stories characters are supposed to develop and grow well in her case she turned into someone totally different. I missed the Ginger she was at the beginning. The nice and sweet one who was a strong woman and wouldnt do some of the things she did later in the series. :(
