Maggie's fight with the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit could only have been written by someone familiar with that struggle, especially the unasked for Scriptures coming to mind at times most inconvenient! Any Christian reading should recognized the battle of flesh vs. Spirit, and, I hope, will realize the need to strengthen the Spirit in order to do what is right with the right, God-given attitude. "A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth". This is addressed nicely. Very good points covered, in story form. The characters didn't really have enough personality to really "grab" me, but the message--which, basically, is the story--managed to come naturally. Bravo for that! There was one distracting element--the last name of "Gahin". Every time I saw it, I wondered if the author knew someone with that name, or if she made it up on the spot. :)I was given a copy for reviewBut that doesn't mean my thoughts aren't trueThey're mine, every bit of themAnd had I paid, I'd write the same again!~Liberty"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." The premise of the story is a young woman that has lovely things saved in her hope chest and battles it out whether to share with a family in need.While based on good intentions and a wonderful story idea, I struggled with the resolution of the story. The young author has good prose and promise of writing a longer story.
