It is a very sweet romance, like most of her work, and also extremely sweet and innocent. (Think heat level: 1, on a scale of 1-10) It has an interesting premise, but because of the length, there is not really any character development, barely any background history, which is too bad because I know everyone is going to be left with the question of why Bren seems to be so damaged. He's not just shy, he seems broken, but he's not yet ready to talk about it, so readers never find out why. And there is no HEA, or really even an HFN. Of course it would've been better longer. Just something to pass a quick break time or short lunch.

By Carly (Carly's Book Reviews) Tin Toys had a nostalgic feel that reminded me of the innocence of youth when trust is easy and friendships are formed over something as simple as sharing toys. Mark and Bren are slightly awkward young men, the geeky kind that never quite fit in, and are perfect for each other. Their story is short, and could use some additional background and character development but pleasantly heartwarming, which is the trademark of all Shiloh's work.
