1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful and strongly recommend to anyone looking to read an intelligent and interesting work. By Henry E. Stewart I think her style is quite wonderful. She has an ability to use simple items in variation to build her pieces. And she has quite a knack for expressing powerfully with minimal description. She touches on deadly serious subjects with a clam demeanor and an awareness that is quite stunning as it brings a clarity of thought and certain nuance that makes the topic palatable as an ordinary conversation. She appears to be a young master of applying simple terms and comparing unexpected references as devices to achieve such an end. For instance, the title "Sippy Cup" is a wonderful example of discretely, even playfully, using a child's term to describe the reality of a discussion between two adults concerning the serious matter of an abusive relationship and murder. I cannot say enough about the refreshing sense of intellect, emotional development, and adept skills of this young woman. Certainly, I am awaiting her next work even though I have yet to finish this.

The writing is very descriptive and draws you along, whether you want to or not. The descriptions are so vivid, with a "tactile" feel to it, it's almost like you are experiencing it yourself. The last novella put me in mind of Kristin Hannah and "Firefly Lane" and the promise of a better life at the end.
