This diet can cause your body to drop its glucose and insulin levels, which is pointed out aptly by the author. It also causes a little water loss. Theoretically this change is good for the body long-term, although it may cause some short-term discomfort due to adjustment. The positive long-term effects are that this diet will burn stored fat for energy, kill your appetite preventing you from craving like crazy and it will help to stabilize your mood. This diet has also been known to help you get better and longer bouts of sleep, lower blood pressure and help your brain function at a sharper level.The author provides a simple to understand sample diet along with alternative food suggestions. There are several unique recipes that I tried, and the Drunken Beef is spectacular. This is a complete book for someone looking to explore this particular discipline. I recommend it highly.

By Zoltan Csipkes This book got everything about Ketogenic diet : the history of it, how ketosis works, the upsides and the downsides of Ketogenic diet too. I was mainly interested about the transition to this special diet, this book got this too! I really liked the meal plans and recipes (I've already tried the white chocolate almond protein shake, and its wonderful). I'll try more recipes from this book in the future, because they look delicious! Absolutely recommended.

By RedMoonRisingStudios I've been looking for ways to lose weight and am starting with my diet. I like the Ketogenic Diet because it reminds me of the Paleo Diet and I like the concept of lots of veggies and meat, some fruit. Rather than just being a big recipe book this book actually gives a nice overview of the Ketogenic diet, where did it come from, and guidelines to follow and better understand it. The recipes are unique and am looking forward to trying some as many of them are simple with not too many ingredients. Great book!
