By Amazon Customer When Sean agrees to do a security consult on a remote inn for a friend prior to it opening it's doors to the public, he thinks the highlight of the weekend will be some quality alone time with his wife, at no point did he think he'd have to put his Ranger skills to the test in order to save everyone from a group of armed robbers who think the inn is the perfect place to hide.For such a short story, so much happens. It is action packed from beginning to end and Melinda does not disappoint! This would be a great little taster for anyone who hasn't read any of Melinda's work yet. It's definitely a series that I would recommend to all Romantic Suspense fans.

All the characters were fascinating even the bad guys. It was also very noticeable that the author incorporated her real life training in Kenpo techniques into this book which for one made me never want to take her on in real life and and loving the creative way the hero took out the bad guys.Even though this was a fairly quick read it was jammed packed with action and suspense from the beginning and had a very satisfying ending. I bow to Ms Leigh and concede I loved it..

She ratchets up the tension from page 1, and it never stops until the last page. Plenty of action going on and a very strong plot for a short story. This would be an excellent way for a new reader to "test drive" this truly wonderful author.

About the Author Charles Darwin was an English naturalist and author best-known for his revolutionary theories on the origin of species, human evolution, and natural selection. Not Just Dots on a Map By Beverly Kai This is the memoir of an Australian naturalist who, twenty years ago, made the effort to find and study mammals on remote Pacific islands before they became extinct. If he could discover them, then they could be protected. The man has a sense of humor - - -and he needed it to deal with the native peoples who still live traditional lives among the coconut trees... . but he also had to deal with environmental disruption and exploitation of the forests, which made the finding of obscure species almost impossible. He also had a brush with a cannibal culture of not too long ago - - in Fiji. Not for the squeamish to read the account of a missionary of 100 years ago. This is a lively read.....Australians are almost always entertaining.

How neat to be able to visit these remote islands--without the inconvenience of travel, bugs, snakes, diseases and enervating tropical heat! The movie "PT-109" showed these beautiful places and the gorgeous pacific. And a long time ago I read a book by Charis Crockett, an anthropologist in New Guinea, called "The House in the Rain Forest". She typed much of her book with a tree kangaroo on her shoulder. Fascinating places with an amazing variety of flora and fauna. I highly recommend both books.My only complaint is the shortage of photos! How I'd love to see the coral and colorful fish, the birds, more flowers, and views of the rain forests! The native people are interesting, the bats and rats are cute (I suspect that it would take a zoologist to call them beautiful as he does) and I'm glad he included the pictures. But five or ten times that many would have made a really superior book. I bought this thru Amazon.

Weber Flannery, an Australian writer, scientist, and explorer, recounts his adventurous travels to some islands off New Guinea to take stock of their mammalian fauna (existing or extinct). It was not always easy to deal with the natives but Flannery and his team took all difficulties in stride and with great humor. They visited the Bismarck Islands, Solomon Islands, Fiji, and New Caledonia. They were especially interested in endemic species of bats, including flying foxes, and unique species of rats. Unfortunately civilization with the introduction of our rats, cats, pigs, and dogs together with deforestation and mining has brought to extinction the unique giant rat and other mammals endemic to these islands.

I bought it for my great-granddaughter and wanted the original title, not the "politically correct" title that is on some editions. I was very pleased with the book.

Since it is no longer found in schools or public libraries,it is difficult to find. I chose this version by the original author for its text with the original illustrationsso that I could enjoy the same version I remembered from my childhood. This book is currently in adisplay with my Little Black Sambo doll and was featured in a display and presentation on StorybookCharacters and their Books. The readability level is first grade (second semester) to second grade.Very happy to have found this hard-to-find softcover book at a very affordable price. Customer servicewas outstanding!

I never looked at this story as being anything other than an adventure of a small boy and his encounter with tigers. Sadly today too many people view it as a "put down". Shame on them. The rhyming seems to be a perfect fit for her learning level and she does not move on to the next book in 10 seconds like many others. She always wants to finish the story. It also very creatively introduces the idea of time ( not easy for a 2 year old) and a fun sense of place within that. Its just a great all around book for young kids.FULL DISCLOSURE: I know the author but (a) had no idea he wrote children's books until after he heard I had adopted and (b) would not have reviewed this at all if the review was not accurate

Sparkling with wonder By Polly Greathouse Odom reaches right up into the soaring heights of childlike wonder and hangs the moon, "like a pie in the sky". A spin around the earth in a day to adults. And a skip through "aha", for wide eyed youngsters.
